A message from the KFPD Chief.
Our mission is to provide our citizens with professional quality emergency response service for fire, rescue and EMS while covering an area of more than 100 square miles of challenging terrain and difficult road conditions.
Kneeland Fire has been serving our friends and neighbors for more than 35 years! Through the dedication of our volunteer firefighters and board members, we are able to provide the residents of Kneeland with a professional quality emergency first responder service. From structure and wildland fires, vehicle accidents, medical aids, rescues, hazardous conditions, our volunteers stand ready 24-7-365 to answer the call.
Our volunteer firefighters constantly strive to improve our level of service by continually training and honing their skills. Every member who joins the Kneeland Fire Department completes over 40 hours of basic training followed by continued education and training weekly. The training never ends. The average firefighter will log-in more than 200 department training hours annually which does not take into account the additional EMT1 and County Volunteer Fire Fighter training, or the time donated responding to 30-40 emergency calls a year. Their commitment represents who we are today.
All of the services that we provide are made possible by the financial support provided by the Kneeland property taxpayers, donations, grants and community clubs. This support is paramount to our existence and ensures that we have the proper tools and equipment to handle any emergency that we may face.
The emergencies we respond to do not take into consideration if we are a paid or volunteer firefighter. The risk is the same, the task is the same. We should all be proud of our volunteers and support the mission.
